Rennsport Systems offers a wide range of shop services that include:

 

Cylinder head rebuilding and airflow augmentation

All 911 cylinder heads sent for reconditioning receive these services:

  • Heads are thoroughly degreased and soda blasted to remove oil and all baked on carbon.
  • Cylinder sealing surfaces are machined flat and parallel to ensure proper sealing to the cylinders.
  • Valves are removed and the stems measured for wear and taper. Valve lengths are measured in hydraulic lifter engines.
  • Old guides are removed and we install our own RS guides before hand-honing to fit.
  • Guide centers are checked for parallelism and positioning to ensure the valves are centered on the seats.
  • Valve seats are machined with carbide cutters to the 3-angle factory specification (race engines may get something different) Stones are never used on seats.
  • Valves are ground to match and concentricity is checked and corrected as needed. Valve lengths are adjusted as needed in hydraulic lifter engines to ensure standard lifters remain inside their operating range and oversized ones are not needed.
  • Valve springs are checked for length and seat pressure.
  • Heads are assembled with new factory viton guide seals and spring installed height is measured and adjusted as needed.
  • Race heads can be CNC-ported and flowed as needed depending on each application.

Rocker arm reconditioning and rebushing services

Rocker arm bores are rebushed and honed to fit. Pads are reground to be parallel with shaft centerline. This assures even pressure on cam lobes to prevent excess wear. Hard-chrome plating available for hard-weld camshafts.

Engine case machine work and modifications

Case savers for magnesium cases, decking, oil bypass modifications, oil galley cleaning, boattailing.

Crankshaft cleaning and balancing

All crankshafts get magnafluxed, oil galley plugs removed and all passages ultrasonically cleaned, new plusg reinstalled, journals are micro-polished, and then balanced. Other modifications for NASCAR bearings are also available.

Connecting rod rebuild services

We recondition factory rods as well as aftermarket ones with new pin bushings, then correct end-to-end length variations during resizing. New ARP bolts are installed.

Transmission rebuilding and regearing

Complete transmission rebuilding services along with oil cooling systems are available.

3.6 Dual-distributor rebuilding (belt replacement and bearings)

All 3.6 distributors are disassembled and cleaned, all 4 bearings are inspected and either repacked or replaced as needed, new belt is installed and reassembled and tested

Brake caliper rebuilding

All brake calipers can be rebuilt to suit. Powder painting available.

930 Brake caliper modifications

930 caliper modifications to allow these to be fitted to early 911 (’66-’89) and 914/6.
