Rennsport Systems offers GIAC performance software & custom chips for all 964, 993, 993TT, 996, 997, all 996-997 Twin-Turbo cars, and all Boxster & Cayman models.

Rennsport Systems offers GIAC performance chips & software (flash) for all Porsches built from 1990-onward. Performance enhancing software requires the use of 91 octane (pump) or better. We also make custom racing chips for racing gasoline applications that allow the maximum HP available from software.

’95 993 chips are socketed and thus easily replaceable. The ‘97-’98 993 OBDII cars have soldered-in chips so the DME must be sent in to Rennsport Systems to have the new software installed.

These DME’s are specific to your car since the anti-theft immobilizer is programmed into the Motronic ECU. The Immobilizer (Drive Block) can be disabled in software if desired.

We are able to re-program all 993 (except ’96 DME’s),  993 Twin-Turbo’s.  Please read below to see others are available. Listed are US and non-US models that we support.  ’96 993 & Twin-Turbo’s must use a ’97 DME to re-program these cars since those ECU’s contain non-reprogrammable chipsets (PROM). Later ECU’s use EEPROM’s which can be erased and re-written.

We can update US programming to real European RS specs (the cars we did not get over here) or beyond. We leave the stock rev limiter alone given the weakness in the OEM rod bolts unless you install ARP bolts or aftermarket rods such as Pauter or Carrillo rods.

“I have to say and this is subjective, but the car felt completely different. It revved smoother, felt like it had more power throughout the range in any given gear. It might not be too strong to say the car has been transformed. I believe the graphs show to expect maybe 10-12hp and similar gains in torque. It felt at least that strong. The dead spot I felt sometimes is gone. Steve uses the programming GIAC developed and adds his own special code too (if I’m not mistaken). He also removed the immobilizer and my next step will be too jump the starter relay so I can avoid using the fob completely.”
